This thing is a dream. Looking at it and thinking about what it will feel like and holding it are two totally different things. A lot of people said that there would be balance problems but I have no issues with how it sits. It’s not quite as warm as the Thunderbird I had just a few weeks prior but it still sounds right to me. I took it down to a guitar shop and got a lot of “I haven’t seen one of these in years.” Kinda fun. :)
Sad, but true.
This may be one of the silliest bass guitars I’ve ever seen and I want one.
Guitar porn. More shots of my Thunderbird Pro IV. I went out immediately and got new strings on it and it sounds amazing. So much warmer than my Ibanez.
There is one problem. The nut for the truss rod won’t loosen. I’ve got mad fret buzz on the third string. Could be the nut or it could be from shipping it from Texas to Colorado (hot, humid and low to cold, high and dry) and it needs to “settle in”. I’ll find out in a day or so if the buzz is still there. Either way, excited to have it and I won’t feel the least bit bad if I need to exchange it for another because I know I’ll be getting something awesome.
It’s here!! Thunderbird Pro IV!! More pictures later.
My guitar gear. Completely neglected might I add. Ibanez ART100, Vox Valvetronix VT20+. Not shown is BOSS DD-7 and TU-3.
